Gabriel's expertise is wide-ranging across public and academic libraries, as well as archives and museums. He has led small, rural libraries, multi-county library systems, university libraries, a medical library, and large, urban metropolitan library systems. He is currently a professor of library and information science. His research focuses on the library's relevance to the republic.

Building on more than 25 years of executive leadership experience, Gabriel helps leaders thrive in their careers, navigate change, and curate healthy, meaningful, and future-forward organizations that are sustainable for generations to come.

His hands-on experience encompasses a variety of library and museum needs: Strategic Planning, Executive Search, Career Coaching, and Job Endurance Coaching focused on overcoming burnout. Additionally, he has a deep background in Artificial Intelligence, Marketing, and Change Management.

Gabriel also has extensive Facilities Planning experience having led a $275 million modernization of the Atlanta-Fulton County (GA) Library System that included construction of 10 new libraries and the renovation of 24 others, which included the iconic Central Library in downtown Atlanta, and the Auburn Avenue Research Library, one of the premiere African-American Culture and History archives in the country.

Gabriel earned a Doctor of Education degree from The University of Southern Mississippi, as well as a Master of Library and Information Science degree. He also holds an M.B.A. from Western Governors University, and is a Six Sigma Green Belt.

A frequent presenter at conferences around the country, Gabriel is a passionate, engaging, and charismatic speaker - often in the enthusiastic style of a church revival preacher. He is available for speaking engagements at conferences, panels, podcasts, festivals, schools, churches, corporate events, staff development day, and leadership training workshops.
